Embedding sustainability into everything we do

Our Commitment

At JDA, we are committed to being a desirable place to work, ensuring that our business processes benefit the environment and promote sustainability, recognising that our social, economic, and environmental responsibilities to our stakeholders are integral to our business.

Our Guiding Principles

environmental stewardship

Environmental Stewardship

We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint by encouraging the use of renewable resources, reducing energy consumption, and minimising waste generation in all our activities.

economic viability

Economic Viability

We believe that sustainable practices are essential for long-term economic prosperity. We are committed to delivering value to our clients while
considering the economic impact of our decisions on future generations.

Innovation & Excellence

We embrace innovation and continuous improvement as key drivers of sustainability. We encourage creativity and exploration of new technologies and methodologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the highest standards of excellence.

Sustainability isn’t just a component of our business; our future success relies on all parts of the supply chain weaving environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and innovation into our operations.

Our Targets

We will work towards achieving and maintaining net zero by 2028 at the latest. Our immediate aims are to half our direct  emissions by 2026 and reduce our indirect emissions by 30%. This includes reducing our greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency measures, investing in renewable energy sources, and offsetting unavoidable emissions through credible carbon offset projects.

We will strive to optimise resource utilisation across all our projects, aiming to minimise waste generation, maximise recycling and reuse, and promote the use of sustainable materials and technologies.

We will integrate sustainability principles into the design process of all
our projects, considering factors such as energy performance, carbon emission reduction targets, sustainable and renewable technologies, Part L
compliance, BREEAM or other sustainability assessment methods.

We will promote awareness and foster a culture of sustainability among our
employees through knowledge sharing, participation, and initiatives such as our Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes.

We will engage with local communities and stakeholders to understand their needs and aspirations, and to ensure that our projects deliver positive social and environmental outcomes that benefit all stakeholders.

We will integrate sustainability considerations into all aspects of our business operations and encourage our team to prioritise sustainability criteria when selecting suppliers, partners and vendors.

Tackling Travel

Business travel is a major part of our emissions footprint; therefore, it is our biggest challenge. Our intention is to tackle it head on by reducing the number of employees required to travel, by streamlining and evaluating the effectiveness of the need to travel versus online meetings.

Further to the launch of our Cycle to Work scheme, JDA introduced an Electric Vehicle Scheme in 2023. As part of our ongoing commitment to implementing new practices and schemes whilst we move towards net zero, JDA are planning to integrate a number of electric vehicle charging stations at our Ingatestone office in 2024. These charging stations support us in promoting eco-friendly commuting options to our employees, clients and visitors.

Our Accountability

We are committed to transparency and accountability in our sustainability efforts. We will regularly monitor and evaluate our performance against our sustainability goals and targets, and we will report our progress openly to our stakeholders.

Sustainability is a journey, and we recognise that there is always room for improvement. We will continuously review and update our sustainability policies, practices, and objectives to reflect the latest scientific knowledge, technological advancements, and best practices in the field.
